Agent stack via just bootstrap-dev. Harness SSOT is wyattowalsh/agents.
SSOT: wyattowalsh/agents — MCP, skills, hooks, plugins, client configs.
This repo only stores env names (for example MCPHUB_BEARER_TOKEN, BRAVE_API_KEY, WAGENTS_REPO_ROOT). Values stay in ~/.zshrc.local / private env — never git.
just bootstrap-dev with no args injects --dry-run. It execs rig/bootstrap/dev-env.sh, which locates the agents clone via WAGENTS_REPO_ROOT (if that path is an agents repo), then ~/dev/projects/agents, ~/dev/tools/agents, or a sibling agents next to this repo.
If you are…
| You are… | First command | Then |
|---|---|---|
| On this Mac, want the agent stack | just bootstrap-dev | just bootstrap-dev --apply |
| On Debian / WSL / Codespace | ./setup.sh --dry-run | ./setup.sh |
| Already in the agents clone | ./scripts/bootstrap-dev-env.sh --dry-run | --apply |
| A coding agent | just bootstrap-dev --format json | --apply --format json |
| Fresh Mac plus brew/nix | just bootstrap --dry-run | --apply, then just bootstrap-dev --apply |
| Cursor Cloud Agent | consumer + --skip-mcphub in install | do not start MCPHub during install |
You do not need just if you can run rig/bootstrap/dev-env.sh. You do not need sudo for the agent-stack installer.

Atuin agent history
Claude Code and Codex Bash commands are recorded in local Atuin via wyattowalsh/agents (hooks/atuin-agent-hook.sh, context-mode registry rows). Project with just bootstrap-dev --apply. Missing Atuin must not block Bash. Do not vendor hook JSON into rig/. Cloud / atuin login is out of scope.
Fleet
just bootstrap-dev projects repo-core plus the harnesses you actually use, when they are on PATH:
| You use | --harness / --platforms |
|---|---|
| Cursor | cursor |
| Claude Code | claude-code |
| Codex | codex |
| Grok Build | grok |
| OpenCode | opencode |
Auto with those five installed plans --platforms repo-core,cursor,claude-code,codex,grok,opencode. Other CLIs may be detected for skills; they are not remapped into fake stack ids.
Shell launch aliases (full catalog: Shell, als). Never alias oc.
| Tool | CLI | App / IDE |
|---|---|---|
| OpenCode | opc ocr occ | opa |
| Codex | cdx | cda (ChatGPT.app) |
| Grok Build | grk | — |
| Cursor | agt (agent) | cur curp |
Gemini CLI is not in this fleet (no gm aliases; Linux setup.sh does not install it).
Flags
just bootstrap-dev defaults to dry-run. Useful flags (passed through): --apply, --check, --format json, --harness cursor, --home, --install-skills, --mcphub, --skip-mcphub, --full.
Default and --apply do not start MCPHub. Pass --mcphub only when you want local loopback start-local-only.sh. Linux ./setup.sh and just bootstrap --with-dev-env always pass --skip-mcphub.
Live skill installs and home projections are off unless you pass those flags.
Laptop vs Cloud MCP
| Place | What this installer does |
|---|---|
| Laptop / WSL / Codespace | Project harness files; optional local MCPHub on loopback (harness group) |
| Cursor Cloud Agent | Disk/projections only; Cloud MCP and secrets stay on the dashboard |
After apply
Secrets belong in a private env file. Names only: MCPHUB_BEARER_TOKEN, BRAVE_API_KEY. Clone path override: WAGENTS_REPO_ROOT. See Linux and Fresh Mac.
